Its too bad you picked such a perishable medium to be artistic with, its my problem too, all I have is photographs of some of the work I've done for food shows etc.
To make a living you need some bread and butter basic products so you can afford to fiddle with the artistic stuff, the artsy stuff won't pay the bills in most cases and if it does you'll soon tire of selling your art for a cheap dollar. Most of the ..no ALL of the best work I've done has never been for money, I either donate it or its for competition entry.
I make the rent baking bread, croissants pastry etc , thats the reality check, unless you have some steady earners theres no way to make art...unless you consider 400 croissants daily to be artistic. Pay the rent first, play later.
