Have you ever seen the frosted truffles from Fauchon?
I peeled some of the coating off and its sugar syrup, sprayed obviously from its appearance.
It can be done, I run a bakery and don't usually have time to play around, I did spray some choc but didn't think the results worth the bother.
I sprayed marron barquettes and it looked like they were dipped in cocoa, maybe I need a spraygun with a bigger nozzle or a resin gun for spraying fibreglass.
My brother has a machine for spraying apricot glaze, it heats the contents too, that would probably work.
