I am a student cook at a Big Ten university catering facility. And I'm left handed. I' accustomed to figuring out how to do things
"backwards" because I'm a southpaw. Recently, though, at a holiday party, I was supposed to work a carving station and my chef
was flustered with me because he didn't know how exactly I was supposed to hold the carving fork and the knife. I figured out how to position
the tenderloin, my knife, and the carving fork so that meat looked lovely and so that I did not look clumsy. I wonder, however, if there is an
official way to carve left-handed. And, furthermore, are there any definative ways of doing other things a la
southpaw?
By the way, I love this page.
