As far as I know, I also do not know of a formula. What you will be able to do though as many years of booking functions is to get a feel of what to anticipate for attendance, especially for weddings if you know how many guests are on the original guests lists. Fundraisers always shot for the stars when negotiating with them on an event. Take their figures with a grain of salt and make sure you cover your expenses no matter how many they plan on attending. Is this what you are looking for as wanting to figure on number of guests? Kevin
