: Great information

: It would be a real help if you could tell us more about the program other than the URL. If you would not mind taking a few minutes to answer a few questions.

: 1 Where did the new people placing the orders come from ?

We get several phone calls a day from people wanting us to fax or mail our menu. These days we always give out our web adress and sometimes before we finish the conversation we can hear themusic from our pages in the background. Giving our customers the chance to actually place their order online allows us to cloose the sale right htere on the net. It saves the customer that extra step of picking up the phone and talking to us. We always call them back to confirm the orders and suggestive sell. Our website has been getting about 30-40 hits a day for the past two months. About half of these hits come from search engines usually people who type in Sacramento cater or caterer or box lunch.

: 2 Are they coming in to get them or do you deliver ? Also what type of catering operation do you have?

We deliver. We do a vareity of catering, specializing in quality drop off food. We do lots of box lunches, breakfasts, and party trays. We also offer full service mainly corporate catering. We've done our continental breakfast for 1000 and our box lunches for as few as 6 people. We operate out of a good sized kitchen in West Sacramento and have a small but hard working staff of 9 plus a few partimers who help out during our big events.

: I ask this because I am working and getting information on marketing a web site. One of the things I have seen and learned is to keep them coming back. Also it would be nice to do sales presentation with a good web site. The main reason is not so much to view it online at a clients site but to put it onto a CD-ROM. This way the site can be viewed in a Browser but be fast loading and reliable.

: I plan on playing around with mailing a few out to select clients when I get my site done. I will be looking into your site to see how it works before I sign up for one more piece of software. If it works well maybe it could be loaded on the CD-ROM then email orders back.

I'm not sure that this would work. The ordering online uses freemerchants shopping carts and order tracking system. You'll have to take a look to see what I mean.

: More information helps us all and if we are being sold we deserve the FULL DETAILS

Just a clarification, my post was just a tip not a sales pitch. For the record I don't work for freemarket.com I really did just find them surfing the web and can't get over how easy it was to set up and start taking orders.
