hello all - I have been helping a frined plan a "home brew" wedding (trust me, i know, I have recommended using a caterer, but to no avail.)
My friend needs to contract some staff to work the floor and the kitchen. I used to know a great pipeline for independent staff, but it has been a while and most of those folks have moved on. I checked at rates for a few local caterers for staff, and they were quoting prices of $30 to $35 and hour!! (back when I did this for a living, we were thrilled to get $20/hr, and often settled for $15.) Are there online sources for procuring staff for an event?
This wedding is for 100, I have helped plan out the menu and order of service to make it as simple as possible for the limited number of staff they can afford to hire. Any and all suggestions or leads would be greatly appreciated! PS -- we are located inthe Maryland side of DC.
