: I am planning a 40th anniversary come & go tea for my inlaws and would like to know what quantity of food I would require for 80 to 100 people. Time is 2-5pm and what I would like to have is platters of veggies/dip, fruit, cheese and crackers, cheese balls, dainty sandwiches, pickles, etc. Any suggestions on the amount of food I would need to buy. Any help would be appreciated.
: Thanks

That all depends on the quality of what you are buying... Sam's Club veggie tray do not get eaten, not even by Rabbits... they should be ashamed to sell such garbage....

For that time of day, you don't need much... do marinated raw vegetables such as an Escabeche and serve in an oversized Vase....

Do a cheese board with a 4 wedges of cheeses such as Cheddar, Fontina, Gouda, and maybe St Andre with a fruit topping... You need 4-5 crackers per guest. ( i detest cheese cubes....) you can throw a cheese log or ball on the cheese board....

Do some cocktail breads with various light toppings...

Have some gourmet cookies etc....

Fruit... hmmm.... maybe chocolate dipped pears, kiwi and cherries would be enough...

Amounts? Do enough... leftovers are better than running out...It is hard to give you specific quanities... My quantities are based upon experience with my foods which would be received much differently than something you may buy at a grocery store...

Best of luck....

To the others criticising Sam's response: Lighten up! I don't see any advice being given by you..... Sam has given much free advice and consultation, just because he wakes up on the wrong side of the bed every now and then doesnt deserve your critique!
