If you take any advice from me, pls finish your higher education, emphasis on business, marketing, accounting, advertising, human resources, ect,ect...during your education, go to work for a reputable caterer in your area and learn the trade side of the craft from a good role model, after your higher education, if you want to persue a culinary career (& not all caterers are culinarians, but all sucessful caterers are at least partly great business people - you can always hire a great cook or chef, but you cannot always hire someone to watch your pocketbook!)....then do that thru a 2 yr assoc program that is accredited by the American Culinary Association, there are programs at schools in most states.......but keep working for that caterer all thru your education, then if you really don't like the drudgery of catering at the very least you have a college education that can take you any where.......good luck......sam sears, cec
