Thank you kindly for the painful, bitter truth! I appreciate your honestly and candor and naively did not imagine there would be that much involved in off premise catering or catering from your home. Please do not think I am taking this lightly or as a fun hobby. I am interested in starting up slowly and quite honestly, did not have the funding to go through all of the steps suggested by you in order to see if it even pans out. I guess the liability risk greatly outweighs the risk of my small business not taking off. Based on your advice, I believe I will decline the offer to cater this function until I obtain additional information and/or licensing as you suggested. Is it not even safe to "cater" to home parties to kinda get my feet wet? Perhaps this is just too big a step without inspection and licensure. If you have a spare minute, give me your thoughts on keeping it very small at first or whether either way I go I must be inspected and licensed (and insured).
