: I need information about catering regulations for the state of Georgia. Is this a state that allows caterers to work out of their home? Also, are there any caterers in Gwinnet or Hall county that are looking for extra help. I have 1.5 years experience working with a caterer and I am interested in getting back involved in the business.
: Thanks, Denise

As long as you have your catering business in an area of the house that is specifically
designated for catering, (it can't be shared by the family) it is accessible from the outside WITHOUT having to go thru the
house, You have a great knowledge of sanitation and food protection, you have proper equipment
and refrigeration, you can get a permit from the state of Georgia. You will have to be signed off by
the health department. i am not sure if the state has a contract with the individual counties to
conduct inspections, or if they do it themselves.... Talk to the State department of Health, FIRST to
get the rules and requirements before knocking out any walls!
