: I am looking to change my career and live outside of Philadelphia. I don't want to relocate and heard of The Restaurant School. Does any have any input, opinions or criticsms of this institution? Has anyone ever heard of it? I am also looking for any suggestions on scholarships and grants for someone already with a BS. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

: Thanks

Dear Arlene:

I graduated from The Restaurant School, June '97. I also was a career changer, and wanted a smaller school. I have a BA and I was able to get loans for basically the whole tuition. If you are interested in checking out TRS you should go to one of the open houses, and also call to make an appt. with one of the financial counselors, to see what your possibilities are for financial help.I believe there are also scholarships available through different womens' chef associations. (I didn't know about it at the time.)

I definitely think whatever school you go to, you make the best of your education, as with anything. I met alot of great teachers at the school and if you are willing to put yourself into learning, they arereally there for you. (In addition, the trip to France is quite amazing.)You travel to places that would be very hard to find as a tourist.

If I can help you with any other questions I would be happy to help you out. There alot of things to consider.

Good Luck,
Cathy
