My son, Christian, is a graduate of J&W Baking and Pastry Arts. His goal was to become the pastry chef for the U.S. National Culinary Olympic team. I crossed my fingers and held my breath as he travelled around the country to study under the great mentors such as Gunther Highland and Steve Rose, many times with barely any cash in his wallet. He was determined and NEVER let anyone steal his dream!
My husband and I watched with pride as he and Team '96 won many medals in Berlin. It was certainly a very proud time for all of our family. Thank you to all the culinary giants that helped pave the way for this very special young man!
