Where do I start?

I am 21 and dying to break into the food industry. I have no formal training. There is a community college here, but I don't know if I should start taking classes there or ??? Do I start somewhere like the college, or is that a waste of time. Does anybody know of good schools in Alberta, Canada? I am in Lethbridge. I am sorry to sound so ignorant, but where do I start??
