Forgive me if this topic has been addressed previously, but I did not find it with the search feature. Does anyone have any comment on CHIC, particulary with regard to the 300 hour "Certificate in Restaurant Management" program. As I have said before, I am aiming directly at opening my own place in fact I even have the general location picked out. I do not need to be, nor do I intend to employ a trained chef for this venture. I have some business background, but not in a food service setting. It seems like this program might fit my needs, it's short, nearby, inexpensive, and seems like it would address the specific skills I need. What do you think, would this be a logical step for me to take? I really want to get this thing going, after all I have been "planning" it on the back burner for years now and I think I'm finally ready to take action.
