: I'm a Providence grad and would like to tell your friend that a 2yr degree will get you just as far if not farther than a 4yr. Because in 4 years time she can have 2 yrs of education & 2 years of experience which will look much more attractive than 4 yrs in school. 99% of employers dont look past a 2yr program. The school will tell you different, Iknow I've been there, she should call places she would like to work and get their opinion before signing on for 4 yrs. I really dont think its worth it. Good luck. If I could be of help let me know.

If you want a Food and Beverage Director 4 yrs for sure. If you wanabe a Chef 2 yrs School plus 5 yrs kitchen, you will be fine.
Remember to look at present wages in your area and ask? Can I pay back my student loans on a cooks wage ? You are a cook long before your a Chef.
