I am not a food professional, but I was given a cookie recipe by a baker, I need help to break it down to make about 2 dozen or around that number, can anyone help? Here it is:


2lbs veg. oil
6lbs 12oz sugar
2lbs cocoa
4lbs eggs
2-1/2 oz vanilla

combine....mix until well blended, then add

4lbs 12oz flour
2-2/3 oz baking powder
2/3 oz salt
confectioners sugar for coating

refrigerate dough til firm or overnight.....making 2-1/2 oz balls, cover with confectioners sugar in a bowl and place 1-2 inches apart on baking sheets flattening slightly with the palm of your hand......bake at 325 for about 15 minutes........yeild 10-1/2 dozen cookies

Kewpys Mom making this into a smaller batch is easier than you think. Take your weights and divide them (using a calulator) by either 4 (that will make about 40 cookies I'd guess) or 6 (which is a really really small batch). You'll still need to use a scale to measure, if you don't have one I'd use a different recipe.

This recipe looks familar it's published everywhere and called several different names. "Chocolate snowcaps" is one, I can't think of the others right this second. I believe both Hersheys and Nestles have published recipes for them. I know it's in every x-mas cookie book I can think of. Look at the photos in the book to find what name they call them. They're chocolate cookies covered in powdered sugar that cracks when they rise and bake.
