Hi! Looking for a childhood favorite recipe of a relative -- she describes it as a baked apple in some kind of crust (not too sweet) covered with a sweet white sauce. Any ideas? Your input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance and have a wonderful weekend!

Sounds like Apple dumplings. It's an apple baked in pie crust dough. You would fill say a 8"x 8" pan with 9 small apples in crust then pour a sauce over the top usually after they baked for a while to set the crust. The top sauce would be something to sweeten the taste even more (a simple frosting or syrup).

This is an old traditional dessert. There are many versions (every housewifes did something a bit different) but they are small changes. For an exact recipe look thru these books (at a book store or library).
