Hi,

My doctor thinks I may have allergies to milk protein, and I'm wondering if I can substitute water for milk in a simple upside-down cake recipe.

Water to me would leave it tasting flat, how about a soymilk, coconut milk, fruit juice,non-dairy creamer like coffeemate works well,I have had customer who were allergic to milk, and these subs. worked, you will have to experiment with your recipie. hope this has been of some help.
