G'day from Sydney,
I am involved in the development of a large (10.000 m2) foodhall/foodcourt in the heart of Sydney :Based on the idea of popular markets, the abundance of products and produce, mixed with many ethnic restaurants in a semi open plan.
We are targeting the middle end of the market.
I might have to go on a world trip to visit the best there are to pick up ideas.
I'm looking at places like Granville Island in Vancouver, Les Halles in Paris, KaDeWe in Berlin etc.
Who can help me mentioning more destinations?
I am looking world wide, especially Far East, but also USA (both coasts)and Europe.
Thank you for your help and directing me to EXCITING places.

Definitely some of the best are:
Mercato Centrale- Florence
Pike Place Market- Seattle
Union Square Green Market- New York

I take back what I said about the one in New York. I like it because I'm from NY, but it's no competition for the other 2. It is a wonderful market, though.

You can also try the one by the Kurhaus in Scheveningen (the Hague) Holland. It was the first foodcourt I saw years ago.
