i'm getting married in france and would really like to have an american style wedding cake. we haven't picked the caterer yet but so far they have either said that they could probably make one or if i provided a recipe, then they could do it.
what i want is a delicious not too dense but not spongey white cake with a berry filling and buttercream frosting. but i'm open to all flavor combinations. it's a spring wedding if that determines fruit pickings.
do any of you have a great recipe in metric measurements??? thank you so much if you can help!

an american style wedding cake receipy ?
this is simmilar as if you ask for a receipy to build a house or car.....this is something like a ferrari in the pastry business, and there is good master pastries that cant manage to make one either. receipy ?....youll need a 200 page book to describe the production an all stepps and problems that possibly accure, i dont even want to mention differences in food qualityFlour, suger,...) between us and cont. europe.

sorry, but i didnt know that you have no clue as to what you are talking about as you post in this forum..
do you rearly think a french patissier making weddings cakes has never heard of amerika and its pastry >???
maybe your catrerer is just trying to get out of responibility if this goes wrong.
prosperous new year to you also
