Hi all,
I hope someone here can help me. I have an idea for a cake design. I would like to use the tropical flower "bird of paradise". The trouble is I am not sure how to go about making these with gumpaste. I have some experience working with this medium ( roses, orchids, small buds, and leaves ect..)but not tons. If anyone has any thoughts I would greatly appreciate hearing them
TIA
Amy

That's a tough one. I can't really describe it in a message, but I can send you some information on it. Send me a private e-mail to mike_henders@pacbell.net to arrange something

I'm not sure how I would explain it in writing. I have a book source for it. If you want I could copy it and fax it somewhere for you or you could try to find the book, if you need more info. after speaking to Mikeh.

buy one, break it down and recreate it in gum paste or rolled fondant . I suggest fondant because you can precolor it. The gum paste is hard to shoot or powder the different color lines.
