does anyone know if royal icing decorations be used on a cake frosted with buttercream? i know that the presence of grease when making and/or piping royal icing will break it down, but will the same happen after it is dried? I was thinking of making some of the flowers for a wedding cake with royal icing before hand, then arranging them on the cake after they have dried.

why do so many bakers post here as opposed to Chefs, does this mean that pastry chefs really don't know what the hell they are doing or do they just have more free time to spend on the computer?
Except you Spyke, you are the pastry chef demi-god!!!

I love you son!
Who gives a crap about hockey!!!!!
Ever since Wayne Huzienga broke up the Marlins in '97 and then the Panthers in '98 (or so) nobody in FL gives a damn about any sport!!!!!
Everyone is just waiting to see the Dolphins get in the Super Bowl and then WH will crap on all that too, maybe selling the team or the parts!!!!!
I hate any and all professional sports, yes I watch but.....college is the best. They are playing for glory, no big $$$ involved yet!!! So they have to try hard!!!
Something is very wrong in this planet when a man playing a game gets 20 million a year and a man who saves lives gets screwed (70-80k a year) and, a man who teaches the future leaders
of this country barely makes ends meet!!!!!!
Screw all professional athletes!!!!!!!
