I'm newly married, and needless to say my cupboards are bare. I'm attempting to make banana bread.. but the receipe calls for buttermilk! It's a bit of a drive to the store, and I'd like to use a substitute if possible.
Are there any easy buttermilk substitutions?>
Thanks!

Add 1 tablespoon of distilled vinegar or lemon juice to 1 cup of warm milk. Stir until it curdles and let sit 5 minutes before using. I have also made banana bread using sour cream or yogurt.
