Some hotels here in Los Angeles just went on strike.
If I can get a job in one of the Hotels Pastry Dept's at night, I'm gonna be crossing the line.
I have no love for the unions that have been in rest's, and hotels for years.
But what do you think?
Most of you are Management, Chef's, Owners. Would you hire someone on a temp. basis to keep going?
By Chefmanny (Chefmanny) on Friday, June 10, 2005 - 11:24 am: Edit |
Go to work!.....look at what the unions have done for the airline industry, the steel industry, the automobile industry (GM the latest), the unions had their time in this great nation but now they are just an abusive political instrument to gain favor for specific persons and they screw the membership when it's time to screw them!!!!!!
So go right ahead you scab!

Don't think anyone who takes cooking or baking seriously has much respect for Unions... Regarding your question about hiring someone on a temp basis to keep going, YES! Anything to keep the movement going, keep contracts honoured and, ironicaly enough, keep the business from going belly-up so when the strike's over the union members actually have a job to go back too... This being said, watch your back. Unions, especially the ones in big places, have a nasty habit of dealing with anything that makes them think, with baseball bats....
By Snuffaluff (Snuffaluff) on Monday, June 13, 2005 - 12:22 pm: Edit |
I'd hire a "temp" and keep him/her instead of the dolts that walked out b/c of a union.

Oh, and when/if you drive through the line... don't slow down. :D

It's a drive-thru????...

With all this talking, you missed out again. Strike's over. Everybody out of the pool and back to work.
By Chefspike (Chefspike) on Monday, June 13, 2005 - 09:54 pm: Edit |
Yea.
Thank you mister new mayor.
Like he does not have anything better to do.
Like the crime isn't out of control.
Like the traffic isn't fu**ed up cause they won't synchronize the traffic lights, and because they want to give DRIVERS LIC. to every illegal that steps foot in California and buys a car with no insurance, and some of the pot holes are big enough to sell as realestate.
Yea, thanks mister new mayor, thats not really your job, to help UNION workers keep theirs now is it?
Yea, thanks mister new mayor, keep helping those @#$%&*'s while the rest of the city goes to waste.
Thanks mister new mayor, what was it again you were going to do when you take the oath?, oh, yea, thats right, you never really said did you.
You really never told anyone your BIG PLANS.
I do remember you saying something about your Policy being "shaped" by the MEXICAN GOV'N.
How nice.
You do remember that Los Angeles is still in America, don't you mister new mayor.
Well, I for one am going to sit back and watch with glee as you(just another blow hart) continue to screw up what was one of America's best cities.
Thanks mister new mayor.

souds like it should be in the editorial section of the newspaper.....provided they even print such material.
By Chefspike (Chefspike) on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 - 10:40 pm: Edit |
are you kidding?
the la times print anything that might even hint at something bad against someone whos not white.
have the read the times lately?
no.
we are talking los angeles times in california.
you know, 6 million illegals.
from everywhere, and the drivers lic's to go along with them.
"Hi, welcome,heres your lic.,have a nice day"
its sick.
By Snuffaluff (Snuffaluff) on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 10:59 am: Edit |
It is sick spike. In Texas we don't just give out DL's, but we sure don't do anything about the illegals. we let them build our buildings and mow our grass w/o question.
By Chefspike (Chefspike) on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - 09:17 pm: Edit |
and whats funny is Mexico is doing to the central-americans what they don't want done to themselves.
they arrest them and hold them in camps. the army does this. and then they complain that we don't provide water for them while they are running across the border.
in the desert.
its such a joke.
well, i don't hire any latinos any more, until it stops, the ones that came here and did it the legal way, paid the money, stayed out of trouble and raised their family's, they too should be concerned about the pay wage bottoming out because of this overwhelming onslaught.
no other emigrant will be able to find work here and in the border states, the one that shows up on thur. will work for less than the one that showed up on tue's.

No, Spike, you know as well as I do that the driver license initiative was never a local issue, but a state one. And it died and was never enacted.
"Mr. New Mayor" may have supported it when it was a possibility, but he has no authority to issue licenses to anyone - that's a state function and we all know it didn't pass.
So calm down - I'm worried about your blood pressure. Find something real to worry about - that's not it.
