Is it possible to make a gingerbread house without gingerbread?Like maybe a sugar cookie recipe?

Sure, you need to use a dough that gets very firm, for it to hold up structurely. You can even use store bought cookies, crackers or pretzels and "glue" them together using royal icing.

If your not a purist and just want to decorate a pretty house you can use a cardboard box as your house too. You can cut and shape cardboard (into ANY shape) use duct tape (never masking tape it won't hold) then frost the entire surface, then decorate. Know one will know the difference...if you sprinkle some cinnamon into your project even the smell won't give you away.
