I would like to start a business selling instant cheesecake mixes. The person in our area that was selling these has moved away, so there is a market for them. Does anyone have a recipe for these? I have an ingredients list from a mix that I purchased, but that doesn't help much with words like fumaric and sodium phosphate. I am also in search of suppliers that would sell me the needed ingredients in bulk at wholesale prices. Any help I can get would be appreciated.

....haven't you wondered why the person in your area selling a brilliant idea like "instant cheesecakes" would abandon this idea and leave the whole market open?

Please don't waste your time and money on a project you don't know how to make and don't understand the MAJOR market competition you'll have! Hum...Elis', The Cheesecake Factory, Sara Lee etc...

How hard is it to make cheescake from scratch? Besides, why don't you do your own homework --since this is such a great idea -- rather than trying to get "free" help from us. Sorry to be so blunt, but as a pastry chef, your idea makes me ill.

I have not visited for a while but my suggestion is to send the basic mix out to a food lab and get a percentage breakdown. Should run about 75.00. I'm assuming that you are planning on selling different types of mixes to customers and not selling prepared cakes? right.
I have a friend that has a company that specializes in making garnishs for ice cream and things like that.Ya know, h3e makes the fun things that you find in B&Jerry's,Dryers etc.
If I understand you correctly, go for it, sounds good. People are funny, they won't bake one from scratch, but will bake a mix if they can end up with chocolate macadamis swirl w/turtle topping.
Package mix, shrink wrap it in a small inexpensive springform pan and voila!
