I have the month of Jan. off and then we come back to a extremely busy Feb. (we're open to members of another much larger country club in addition to our own club). So there's a lot of details to attend to, in a short time....
Anyway I need to get my head back into the game and I'm starting to think about Valentines desserts, both ala carte and buffet. Does anyone have any ideas either something you've done or want to make...or something you had or saw somewhere else????
Panini you must do something for you stores??? How do you carry thru the theme?

In catering I don't do a lot of Valentine items. But I remember doing lots of hearts/cupid with an arrow cookies, some heart shaped pastries and specialty cakes like a florist's box with a marzipan rose resting on top when I was working in a continental bakery. Check out dear old Martha Stewart and those magazines they sell in the grocery for more ideas.

I stay very traditional. It's more of a candy for me. We do a lot af stemed chocolate roses.Plastique.

I do love homemade candies...(I make them for other holidays) so I should make some for Valetines. I've been wanting to make free form suckers (from a Martha photo)...do you make anything unsual or something that's a BIG seller in the candy area for V. day?
Actually I'm kind of thinking on a more advanced level than I'm seeing in magazines lately. I've kind of done that, been there already...
done the roses boxes, heart cookies & cakes...I need to think differently????
Last year I played up the kiss the frog/prince theme...frogs on cup-cakes holding a heart, frog cookies labeled "kiss me"...
