I just purchased both books and I was wondering if anyone here had them and what you thought of them? I found them at a used book store.
I know Madame Chocolates book of Divine Indulgences is older and it has a Chicago background. She used to write a food column for the Times...I never read the Times...did she pass away... Elaine Sherman? This book contains some great recipes (I recognize and even use two of them regularly) from some important bakers. It's hard to believe if she's still around why we haven't heard more from her? Do any of you Mid-Westerners know about her or her book?
I think the "Great Cakes" book by Carole Walter isn't too old...I recall seeing it in the bookstore. Do any of you own this one? If so what's you opinion and can you recommend any of them?
