Just do a simple search on the net. "Red Velvet Cake" or "Waldorf Astoria Red Cake" will do the trick. Skip the "Wedding Cake" part of the search.
Tell me, though, that raspberry filling isn't for this cake, is it?
If you find the original recipe, the frosting recipe is usually included. I made this cake for someone last Fall. The cake and the frosting go together quite well. Raspberry might work (search for "raspberry mousse"), but it would not be my choice. But, hey, I'm not the bride...
Good luck!

Ditto, red cake is made with it's traditional cooked frosting. I've never heard of anyone putting a raspberry filling with it.
Red cake is a very mild cocoa flavored cake. It's not really well liked by most people because it's so plain (although it's my hushands favorite from childhood).
The frosting is going to be a pain to decorate with compared to buttercream...I hope they have a simple look they want. You'll want to ask them if it was fresh raspberries, raspberry mousse or a raspberry buttercream, etc... they wanted since this is a unusual combination with the cake.
I have my Mother in-laws recipe for the cake and frosting if you still need one I can post it tomarrow, let me know?

I often see many posts like this. Do people still do tastings and consultations? Jessica, if you are in the business you should be selling what you do best. If you take the role of order taker you'll always be in the sh--s. Make this cake, let the bride taste it, and then yours. Then the $64,000. question, do you really want all of your guests to have this?
Down here we do grooms cakes. People come in wanting the strangest combinations. We redirect them back to some kind of choco because thats what the guests are expecting.just my 2 cents
ps do a cr. chez icing or fondant so you can decorate this thing.
