: Did you use salt dough or is it edible?

Well, hello Gerard! I used real bread dough. And the decoration was the same. But I would hardly call it edible. They eat it, I kill them!! I also used caramel coloring straight to paint it, just on the braided lip and under side. I wanted to fill it with sugared fruit. But the chef wanted bread. So it had three flavors of small scones. Seemed kind of redundant to me. Bread with more bread. Next time I use it perhaps I can do the fruit. Maybe some gold painted fruit too. I have used salt dough just once before. I made a small cuckoo clock modeled after one given to my grandma by my french grandpa,"Papa", one Christmas. This one I painted with worstchester sauce!
