These numbers are way too low. The standard dessert piece of 4" high
by 2" deep by 1" wide gives alot more servings, assuming you are
making a 2-layer, 4" high cake. Any of the Wilton cake decorating
books have charts in them on servings per tier size. Most of us
find the Wilton numbers are just a little off and and give the customer
more cake than Wilton recommends, but they are a good estimate.
For example, Wilton says a 12" will serve 56. I estimate it will
serve 50.
