The jist of my mssg wasn't "its not illegal" , it was SO WHAT.
I've done it hundreds of times, the mickey mouse police aren't breaking down the doors yet. A $10K fine suggests the gvmnt has a statute with corresponding fine, it doesn't. It would have to go to trial, reach verdict and damages established. Its civil....and as long as its occasional and small scale...but I repeat myself.
You could worry yourself into an early retirement.
