Why is it that cookies from bakeries like Tom's Cookies or Mrs. Fields stay chewy for a few days left in the open and cookies that I bake only stay chewy for a maximum of only 1 1/2 days? I have tried storing them in airtight containers and putting a piece of bread inside & it doesn't really work. The recipe I use is just the basic Tollhouse cookies.
