In my business we have a contract signed with each deposit stating that all changes must be made in writing with in 10 days of the event and any cancelletions must be made within 30 days. I would have politely offered to hold the deposit for the res ceduled date. There are certain circmstances where I have waived this but with a contract it is at my discretion. We have to remember a contract is as much for their protection as it is for ours.
