: No, not interested in going into the business. Just not sturdy enough. But very interested in being the best baker that I can be and in learning from the best teachers that I can find (which includes gleaning bits of wisdom from your postings, Gerard). Can you respect that, if not me? You wouldn't cast me out into that cold, cruel world of Martha Stewart clones ... would you?

Susan, I think you wear your heart on your shoulder a bit, if I'm knocking food writers ..thats what I'm doing, it has little to do with techie writers or novelists for that matter. I can't walk on eggshells for you, you'll just have to trust me I have no beef with all writers....I am casual friends with the Boston Globe food critic and his wife (Ellen Goodman syndicated editorial writer). Its just SOME of them.

Yeh the holidaze are nuts , I prefer to rely on the day to day business, I'm scaling back on xmas craziness, no more working around the clock doing logs. My technical knowledge on baking is very slim, its more important to be able to do it. I know many experts I can ask though..but as bakers they are lacking.

Gerard
