Hi Gloria,
I think the problem is lack of power and blade edge on home tools. I have a commercial one that would make quick work of fingers.
The danger for absent mindedness would be a lawyers dream, so don't expect to see something that actually works available to the public. The commercial units are very expensive but maybe a decent workaround would be an elec drill with a shaft extention and a blender blade, for small scale use you might as well use a cuisineart type, I'm not much help am I ? (g)
