We've been s-s-s-s-s-smoking... Hard to tell what impact it had last weekend because Valentine's Day would have skewed things a bit, but we did double our usual lunch volume today. Hope it keeps up for a while.
You know, I'm not at all upset about the review. Sure, she made some mistakes, we did too. Did she get only one basket of bread? Where were the refills? What of the snapper special someone ordered at her table that night, served on a bed of caramelized fennel and onions with fresh orange? Liked it, hated it, I'll never know.
Husband is furious, can't stand anyone saying anything bad about his girl, sister also upset. Me=happy, much-respected chef friend/mentor of mine=happy, waiter=happy. No problems. All I care about is that we're busy. Had to bring in an extra table for the weekend -- we're up to 9 now, from 8. We've never had 10.
Ah, picky, picky.
I appreciate everyone's support though.
