Re: Sugar Art/Gum Paste FlowersPosted by Elizabeth Kloian on March 02, 1998 at 15:14:59: In Reply to: Re: Sugar Art/Gum Paste Flowers posted by Susan L on December 03, 1997 at 21:08:42: : : Does anyone out there have any hints on making sugar paste. :I tried posting a response, but messed it all up. Sorry, Gerard, if you got the response by mistake. Let me try again. What kind of "hints" do you need? Finding recipes for gum paste or sugar paste? At first I thought you wanted help with gum paste, as in for making flowers and bows, and responded that you should check out www.spunsugar.com and ask Linda your questions. For gum paste I really like the recipe for Tylose-based paste. The recipe is simple (Tylose, powdered sugar, egg white and shortening) and the paste it makes, if stored well, lasts a very long time. I found some paste in my fridge which I had made a year ago, and it is still fine.
