I was in China recently and was stunned to find the Chinese promoting as a "traditional Mongolian meal" the stir-fry free-for-all springing up all over the U.S. in malls, etc., and being promoted here as "Mongolian barbecue." Does anyone know whether this concoction really has any relation to any known Mongolian traditional food? (The sitr-fry has no resemblance, of course, to Mongolian hot-pot.)
