Old, crusty, dusty, rusty, blackened, ugly, unwanted, corroded, funky carbon steel kitchen cutlery...Posted by Glenn Messick on January 23, 1999 at 19:39:23:
I am looking to put together a nice functional battery of old carbon steel kitchen knives. I have one very old and very solid 13" french knife, but it is forged a little too thin for my taste.I also have found a decent 8" filet knife. I was wondering if anyone knows of any sources on the internet that specialize in old or new carbon steel cutlery. I am specifically interested in finding a nice old forged french knife with about a 12" blade, a utility type knife with a thinner blade of about 6" or so.I also would be interested in a fairly stiff bladed slicing knife in the 12-14" range. Any info you folks might be able to give would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
