: I am looking for a program to work with or independant of a POS system.
for starters I'ld strongly suggest buying a system that will work WITH your POS. Before you buy a system make sure it fills all your needs.

the bulk of stuff out there is DOS based, but is supposec to run under Win95 as well

So your looking for a full sweet. Most likely you should buy them all from the same vendor. When you buy a lot of modules you normally bet a better price than buying single modules, and if they are all from the same vendor you can be pretty sure they can work together.

Check out the Software area of EOL (link Below) There are links to all the Foodservice Software sites I've been able to find. (If i missed any PLEASE post them in the add a link now area on EOL and I'll add them to the list)
