Let me first say what a great board this is! I have just spent about an hour checking out several messages and I have learned a great deal! My daughter is a junior in high school. She has Epilepsy (controlled) but has had a great deal of trouble in school her Freshmen & Sophomore years, with diagnosis of Epilepsy and changing different meds, etc. She was pretty discouraged with school, etc. until she started taking a Commercial Foods class this year at a local high school, with different kids from all over this county - plus we have finally found a great med. to control her seizures, but not make her "duh" (her word, not mine)

Anyway, she is now seriously considering a culinary arts school and future. She has always loved to cook and has a real natural talent for it (inherited from her grandmother, not me!) My older daughter has a friend who went to J&W in Providence for two years and is now in Las Vegas for two years. She loved J&W and highly recommends it. We will be visiting later this year and want to look at some other schools as well. My biggest fear as a mother is sending her far away from home (we live in Illinois) because of the Epilepsy. I worry MUCH about that. But, I don't want to hold her back in any way, because she has already been through so much. If any one has advice or words of wisdom, please feel free to share them.

I am just so impressed with the information shared on this board. I will have to bring Lindsay to work with me or get off my butt and get the net hooked up at home so she can ask you all some questions she has!
