For baking cakes yeh you can use just about any chocolate, don't waste good expensive choc unless it goes on the tongue, good choc belongs on a truffle.
Any of the commercial chocolates such as Peters or Van Leer work great for cakes or ganache.
Depends where you are located really as far as finding supplies goes.
