When I first started 10 years ago, I visited (or called) the bigger business that I thought might have meetings they might need to be catered. I also visited the more expensive areas ($300,000 homes and up) and drop off a letter and card (I no longer do that). Also I do alot for a couple of our local builders (new area and growing). Also, I have done some things for a few of the schools and real estate agents. Here they have their open houses on Tuesdays. Once your name is our there, you will be getting referrals. I've even done some scouting, to see where one of the local grocery stores was deliverying to. Have a menu ready and drop off several with cards. I did that this week and have another new client.
