We recently chose a caterer who we thought would be
able to satisfy our needs for a wedding. 100 pounds
of frozen filleted salmon was flown down from alaska from
an uncle and the caterer agreed to cook this as part of
the deal. Upon meeting with the caterer she changed
her mind and decided she did not want to prepare fish
that was previously purchased. Not wanting to be stuck
with 100 pounds of salmon we wouldn't know what to do
with, we decided to find another caterer. Before this
decision was made a contract was signed that said we
had three days to cancel with no additional fees and a 500
deposit was given to the caterer. The caterer told us
that she would keep 50 of the 500 dollars and send the
rest to us. We told her we cannot pay her anything since
it was her that was backing out of our original agreement.
Now it's been 2 1/2 weeks, the check has been deposited, and
we still have not received a check. We called her to see
where the money was and she screamed 'The Check was Sent!'
into the phone and then rudely hung up on us. We called
again and we were hung up on again. Question: Who can we
call to report this to? Is it fair for her to keep part
of our money in these circumstances (nothing in the contract
said anything about her keeping part of our deposit.) If
you ever need a caterer in Snohomish county, do not choose
Jeanne Cole! what a bundle of misery. Thanks
