I happen to think that this is the most ignorant thing to say. Caterers who start out of their home do so so that they can build up the clientale before taking on large overhead responsibilities. And to correct you, home-based caterers can in fact get insurance and permits. And most that start off at home do succeed. If you're over pricing you're over pricing. Not to step on any toes.
