Amen! Book learning's ok -- there's certainly enough of it floating around out there -- but sometimes it just turns out to be someone's working hypothesis (or someone parrotting somebody's else's theory) presented as carved-in-granite fact.
I'm much more interested in people's stories about "this is what happened when I tried to (fill-in-the-blank)" and "this is how I've done it for years and here's why"!
