Hi,
I am participating in an International Food Hamper. My partner in this lives in Italy and he has challenged me to "drive his American food experience". What fun!
I feel a little overwhelmed with too many choices. What foods are strictly American, what are some examples of regional dishes *aside* from cajun, southwestern, texmex. I have the PA Dutch part locked up with a recipe and ingredients for a shoofly pie.
Here are some of my other ideas:
boston baked beans
wild rice
jump up and kiss me ( a great hot sauce)
old bay
blue corn meal
anazasi beans
dried cranberries
dried blueberries
ingredients and recipe for:
shoofly pie
philly cheese steak
maple syrup
walla walla onions (or vidalla)
Have some fun with me. Give me some really great ideas! All foods must survive the trip to Italy and be able to pass through customs.
Please email your suggestions, as well as post them here.
TIA
Sharon
