: I'm about to begin my career in the foodservice industry and I was wondering what type of footwear do chefs prefer the most (shoes, boots, clogs, etc.) Also, I would like to know the brands of footwear that I should keep an eye out for. Should footwear be OSHA approved, or is comfort a greater priority? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Ted,
In the past 19 years I have tried just about every kind of shoe.
Or so I had thought. About 4 months ago I bought some Birkenstocks.
(not sure I spelled it right) But anyway, they are the best shoes I
have ever had. Unlike clogs they have a back on them. You can also
get them with non-slip bottoms. They rteally support my feet well.
My legs feel a lot better after a 15 hour day and my lower back
is doing better as well. You may want to try some on.
Good Luck
Tom
