: I have several lunch 'boxes' from Turkey, they are quite old and I'd like to clean them up for use. I need to remove the tinning on the outside of the boxes (acturally dishes) to allow the copper to be polished. Is there a way or place to do this. Help. John
Tin is applied with heat, try to heat the copper with a soldering
gas - heater, like the one you use for plumbing, when it gets hot wipe the tin off, but be carefull it gets hot hot, the copper.
Use steelwool to wipe it off wit, can not hurt!
